APJ Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931, in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, to a Tamil Muslim family. His father’s name was Jainlabdin (Father’s Name), and he worked as a boat rental and salesman. Kalam ji’s father was uneducated, yet his ideas were well beyond the average. He was a guy with great ideals who wished to provide a better education for all of his children. After graduating, Kalam worked as a scientist for the Defence Research and Development Organization. He also collaborated with the well-known physicist Vikram Sarabhai.
